Parents and Coaches Recruiting Workshop 2008 DVD
features timely recruiting information for parents,
players and coaches! In addition to a fine array of
college coaches, the 2008 DVD includes a talk and Q &
A session from ESPN Scouts.Inc’s Reggie Rankin.
This DVD is a “must
have” for college hopeful athletes, parents and
coaches. The DVD features timely recruiting addresses
along with question and answer sessions for all of the
speakers. Here is the 2008 DVD Lineup:
Coach Rankin, a
surprise special guest at the 2008 workshop, reveals
the secrets of the Scouts.Inc evaluation process. He
also gives players great advice on things that they must
do to get noticed!
Terry Dunn shares
valuable information about “How to Choose a School for
Your Son”. Coach Dunn highlights the critical
considerations that must take place BEFORE you sign that
letter of intent. Parents were busy making their
checklists during this session. Coach Dunn also
emphasized the importance of “being active in your own
rescue” and not waiting on others to clear a path for
you.
Steve Lutz outlines
the values that SMU looks for when evaluating a player
for their system. He detailed the number of available
scholarships they will have and the position players
they will need over the next four years. Insights were
shared concerning some of SMU’s unique recruiting
practices. Coach Lutz also talked about how they and
other schools use mailing lists and how parents and
players can distinguish mail designed to keep you “on
the hook” from mail that reflects a serious recruiting
effort.
Herb Sendek shares
insights on how to deal with the anxiety of the
recruiting process and the pressures of being a
collegiate athlete. Coach Sendek also highlighted the
need to help your kid to understand that his worth has
nothing to do with his 3-point shot.
Another area that
was addressed was the importance of academic
preparation, desire and determination. Coach Sendek
explained that with the help of available support
systems and self-determination, anyone who desires to
graduate can obtain a college degree. This is another
NUST HEAR message for every parent and player!
